Who's Afraid of Psychoanalysis?

A thirteen week crash course in contemporary, culturally informed psychodynamic psychotherapy

Thursdays 7:00pm-9:00pm PST on Zoom

I will be facilitating a thirteen week reading and consultation group for psychotherapists at any stage of their career who are interested in learning more about psychodynamics and psychoanalysis.

We will spend the first 45 minutes of class discussing readings on transference, countertransference, social media, queerness, race and racism in the therapy room, and other relevant topics. The second half of class will be a case conference where you will be invited to present a therapy case so that we can discuss the case together. Each person is invited to present two times in a row. Case conferences are not supervision, but a chance to learn to think psychoanalytically together.

This group is limited to six clinicians so that we can have an intimate and hopefully fun learning experience.

Cost is $75-$125 per week, sliding scale, billed weekly (a thirteen week commitment is required, and I will bill regardless of attendance). You are welcome to miss 1-2 classes.

Potential syllabus (but subject to change)
