Psychoanalysis that doesn’t suck
I facilitate a thirteen-week reading seminar for grad students, social workers, psychiatrists, and therapists at any stage of their career who want to learn more about psychodynamics and psychoanalytic therapy. The class is designed for folks who are interested in psychoanalytic therapy but didn’t receive much training at the graduate or post-graduate level. I bring a contemporary, social justice–informed approach to psychoanalytic thinking. It’s a good class for anyone who feels intimidated by psychoanalysis and wants to learn more in a low-stakes environment.
The first half hour of class is devoted to discussing a variety of readings. The second portion is a case conference, where one participant at a time presents a case in depth. Each participant presents two weeks in a row, so the class is limited to six clinicians. The case presentations are not supervision. They’re an opportunity for us to think together psychoanalytically.
Each class runs an hour and forty-five minutes and costs $85 per week. A $425 deposit reserves your spot and covers the first five weeks. After that, you’re welcome to pay week by week. If you’d like to participate but can’t pay the fee upfront, please let me know.
The next class series will be Fridays 1:30-3:15pm PST/ 4:30-6:15pm EST starting November 13, 2026.
I reserve sliding scale slots for BIPOC clinicians.
“an amazing experience.”
